Our Fair Carousel, Inc....is a non-profit organization founded in November 1988 to rescue the former Minnesota State Fair carousel from auction and to operate it for the public. The mission of the 501 (c) (3) organization includes not only saving, restoring and operating this antique carousel but also educating the public about the history and value of such carousels as an American art form.

Peterson of St. Paul, Minnesota, who also serve as president and secretary of the board of directors. The board, which may have up to 25 members, includes people who volunteer their time and talents in accounting, law, historic preservation, marketing, fund-raising and other areas. The City of St. Paul has three representatives appointed by the mayor; one is usually an administrator with the Parks and Recreation Division, one represents residents of the Como neighborhood, and one lives in Ramsey County outside of St. Paul city limits. Many of the board members are also active volunteers at the carousel itself.

Colleen Murphy Roth became executive director of Our Fair Carousel in March 2015, selected by the OFC board for her experience building and leading organizations that depend heavily on volunteer effort.
